Counterculture Questions: ROCK and ROLL !
Rock & Roll, Punk, Cyberpunk, and Technoshamanism have all been described as countercultural movements that challenge traditional forms of authority and religion. While each movement has its own unique characteristics and motivations, they share a common thread in their rejection of the established order and their focus on subverting and questioning dominant cultural norms.
Rock & Roll, from its inception, has always had a certain spiritual quality to it. It has been described as a rebellious and visceral form of expression, which defies the constraints of traditional society. But for some, it has evolved into something much more profound, even to the point of becoming a kind of pagan religion.
In his book Noise: The Political Economy of Music, Jacques Attali writes: 'Rock & Roll is an anarchic, heretical force that aims at tearing down the established order, at finding a way to freedom, or at least to some sort of liberation.' Attali suggests that Rock & Roll's rebellious Spirit is rooted in its origins as music for the marginalized and disenfranchised, including African Americans and working-class youth. The genre's primal and sexual nature, as well as its connection to the Occult, are also seen as manifestations of this rebellious Spirit.
Similarly, Punk emerged in the late 1970s as a response to the excesses of the music industry and the political and social turmoil of the time. In his book Please Kill Me: The Uncensored Oral History of Punk, Legs McNeil writes: 'Punk rock was about breaking down the barriers of who was cool and who wasn't. It was about being anti-authority.' The genre's confrontational and aggressive edge, as well as its DIY ethos, reflect the social and political context of its time.
Kenneth Anger has been one of the most prominent voices in the exploration of Rock & Roll's spiritual qualities. In his book Hollywood Babylon, Anger writes, 'Rock & Roll is a pagan thing, a pagan religion, and its rituals are sexual.' This statement highlights the primal and sexual nature of Rock & Roll, which is often associated with the pagan worship of the body and the Earth.
Technoshamanism, a movement that emerged in the 1990s, also shares a desire to subvert traditional forms of authority and religion. In their book The Technoshaman Manifesto, authors Arthur and Marilouise Kroker write: 'The technoshamanist re-imagines the world as a hybrid of the natural and the technological.' Technoshamans use technology to create altered states of consciousness and to connect with spiritual forces in a way that is both traditional and innovative.***

En su obra multidisciplinar, lo simbólico y lo Mágico conviven con muy diversas influencias tales como la Patafísica, el Discordianismo o La Iglesia del Subgenius, todo ello imbuido permanentemente del espíritu revolucionario propio del surrealismo y dadaísmo, la contracultura más marginal y occulta, y un marcado carácter futurista y Cyberpunk.
Con formación musical clásica y cientos de referencias en sellos nacionales e internacionales como Nyapster, EMPTY 6 Pack, San José Tapes, Pedicure Records, Not Working Tapes, Ingrown Records o AMDISCS, entre muchos otros; su música ha recorrido (reinventando y alglutinando de un modo sui generis) géneros como el noise rock, anti-música, acid folk, hypnagogic pop, krautrock, coqueteos con el vaporwave o en los últimos años oscilando desde su particular revisión de la música clásica bajo el prisma digital y electrónico, a la influencia de los memes, o nuevos experimentos de sampledelia y sintetizadores.
En los últimos años, ha publicado cuatro libros inspirados por el olvidado género de la Emblemática, en los que vuelca su pasión por el Simbolismo y la Alquimia: ARS SYMBOLICA 2000 (2017), EROS C’EST LA VIE! (2020), CAHIERS d’AMOUR FOU (2024) y el más reciente: ETHER (2025) Así mismo, también mediante la autoedición, han visto la luz numerosos fanzines en ediciones limitadas.

Master of Bulldada: MISS SHAYE SAINT JOHN
SHAYE SAINT JOHN (1969-2010?) was a former Supermodel who suffered a severe disfigurement after being hit by a train, resulting in the loss of her arms and legs. Instead of using conventional prosthetics, Shaye reconstructed herself using mannequin parts, including wooden hands and a plastic mask to conceal her face.
She was a cultural Icon who rose to prominence in the early 2000s through her distinctive and unconventional persona. Shaye’s haunting yet captivating image and unique style made her a memorable figure in the realms of avant-garde art and early Internet culture.
Shaye first emerged in public consciousness through a series of videos that captured her eccentric and surreal lifestyle. Cassandra was born as Brian Edward Cobbs in the ruins of the Walsall Apology in the Old Calendar Year of 4.99/4763/A/15. Her life was extended through a series of 708 plastic surgery operations until she was nothing but a piece of skin stretched onto a frame with eyes and a mouth, connected to a brain in a jar below. The skin had to be constantly moisturised to keep it from drying out. She was guarded by attendants, who sprayed her regularly with a patented moisturising formula kept in canisters. They also served as soldiers when they filled the canisters with acid.
Almost cartoonishly elitist and aristocratic, Cassandra hailed from the wealthy upper-class of human society. She was shown to be an extremely arrogant xenophobe, proclaiming herself to be the last "pure human" and considering the new evolved humans of the far-future as "mongrels" and "mutant stock" due to their intermingling with the natives of the planets they colonised. The way to avoid the pendulum spending too much of its 'swing' in the Bad Mood side is to make them into NEW, WEIRD, heretofore UNDISCOVERED MOODS: the so-called "Mood Exploration" that Doktors recommend. (Manic depression? That's just the Pink Witch Doctor's way of explaining a SubGenius who's become a mental Bodybuilder, an incredible Hulk of the emotions. He doesn't need Thorazine - he needs SLACK!) If you're going to change, you must KILL YOUR ENTIRE PREVIOUS LIFE - you must DIE to everything you have "known".
