Its influences and borrowings are explicit and reappropriated: the esoteric cinema of Kenneth Anger, the New Flesh of David Cronenberg, the paranoid visions of Philip K. Dick, the cut-up and visionary heresy of William S. Burroughs, the technological fetishism of J. G. Ballard, and the biomechanical horror of H. R.
