Earth has become too slow.
CAN are coming to System 2738 for one night only — a completely improvised transmission from the outer zones of rhythm, electricity and consciousness.
No setlist.
No rehearsals.
No guarantees.
Just sound, space, repetition and disappearance.
Jaki's drums will operate at machine precision, pushing the entire system toward the point where rhythm becomes physical matter. As he once explained his method:
“You have to play monotonously… repeat the same rhythmic cycle. Then groove happens.”
Holger will manipulate the Transmission from inside the machine, cutting reality into pieces. Irmin Schmidt will open the harmonic gates. Michael Karoli will activate the magnetic electric strings.
And somewhere between the first beat and the last transmission, the music will begin to play itself. As Holger Czukay described the ideal state:
“I’m a medium through which the music flows.”
