'Pataphysics: SPIRALIZATION ?

The spiral represents our journey through life. We can choose to add to our lives or take away, that’s it nothing more. Because nothing more is needed, it’s spectacular and wonderful.

With ‘Pataphysics the spiral, which is inscribed on Père Ubu’s belly and which became the symbol of the College of ‘Pataphysics from its inception in 1948. The spiral is brought up twice in Faustroll, each time in relation to progress; in other words, the motif of the spiral is understood as a movement outwards, which is potentially infinite in its expansion. While neither Jarry nor the College of ‘Pataphysics accept the commonplace understanding of progress as human betterment, and while progress here is imagined as a spiral rather than a straight line, it does figure the eventual extension of a pataphysical understanding in which everything, every value, has become equivalent, in which every phenomenon is viewed with equal interest and where nothing is true."

ROCK N' ROLL (El Jardín de las Delicias)
Rock and roll, from its inception, has always had a certain spiritual quality to it. It has been described as a rebellious and visceral form of expression, which defies the constraints of traditional society. But for some, rock and roll has evolved into something much more profound, even to the point of becoming a kind of pagan religion.
In his book Noise: The Political Economy of Music, Jacques Attali writes: 'Rock and roll is an anarchic, heretical force that aims at tearing down the established order, at finding a way to freedom, or at least to some sort of liberation.' Attali suggests that rock and roll's rebellious spirit is rooted in its origins as music for the marginalized and disenfranchised, including African Americans and working-class youth. The genre's primal and sexual nature, as well as its connection to the occult, are also seen as manifestations of this rebellious spirit.
Kenneth Anger has been one of the most prominent voices in the exploration of rock and roll's spiritual qualities. In his book Hollywood Babylon, Anger writes, 'Rock and roll is a pagan thing, a pagan religion, and its rituals are sexual.' This statement highlights the primal and sexual nature of rock and roll, which is often associated with the pagan worship of the body and the earth.

Su raíz es una tierra metálica; su tallo es rojo con manchas negras; crece con facilidad pero también se deteriora con facilidad; y después de tres días florece en amarillo citrino; si se coloca en Mercurio se transforma en plata perfecta, y ésta mediante ulterior decocción se convierte en oro, que entonces cambia cien partes de Mercurio en el oro más fino. De este árbol habla Virgilio, en el sexto libro de la Eneida, al relatar una fábula: Aenas y Silvius fueron a un árbol que tenía ramas de oro, y cada vez que una rama era quebrada, otra crecía en su lugar.»
